FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does Gearhead Classics do consignments?
YES. While we own the majority of our cars, we've started accepting more consignments as the need for a straight forward consignment program has arisen. When selling, we make sure to use the same mentality for consignment cars as we do with our own. We do require the cars to be good, drivable cars that our customers can jump in and enjoy.

Does Gearhead Classics restore classic cars?
YES. Our company, Gearhead Next Door Garage, is a branch of our service department and can handle any restorations from small jobs to large. We specialize in restomods and protouring cars with modern amenities.

Do you offer shipping?
Gearhead Classics does offer shipping services. We have a network of transporters and dispatchers we use to transport your new classic to it's new home safely and quickly. Our shippers are all bonded, licensed and insured to make sure your investment is safe with them.

Do you offer financing?
Yes. Robbie, one of our owners, can help find you the best financing option for you. We work with multiple lenders to find the right fit for your situation. If you have any questions regarding financing, give us a call and we would love to help.

How will I know I will get a car and title after sending my money?
Gearhead Classics is a licensed, bonded dealership. We also suggest calling the state to verify if a dealership is legit and has a current license. By buying from a licensed, bonded dealership you are guaranteed a car and a clear title.

Are deposits refundable?
NO. All deposits we take on our cars are non-refundable. Please make sure you are 100% sure of your purchase, have all of your funding ready and have done all of your due diligence before making a deal or leaving a deposit. Gearhead Classics will always stick to its word when making a deal and we expect the same from our customers. Although our deposits aren't refundable, they are transferrable to another vehicle in inventory if you have a change of heart. We hold unused deposits for use in the future even if your situation changes.

Can I inspect the car in person or set up a third party inspector?
Yes. We always recommend coming to see the car in person or having it inspected. At Gearhead Classics, we will always do our best to answer all of your questions and thoroughly describe the car but your eyes are always best.

How do I know the ad I'm looking at is not a scam?
We always recommend doing research on any person or company you are buying from. If it is a dealership, call the state and verify it is a licensed, legitimate company. Good rule of thumb is if it is too good to be true it usually is, unless of course it is at www.gearheadclassics.com :)

Can I drive the vehicle home?
Gearhead Classics always recommends having your vehicle shipped. The place to get familiar with any 40-year-old classic is near your home, not on a 1000-mile road trip. With that being said, we will be happy to thoroughly check over the car before you embark on your trip if you do choose to do so.

What are your business hours and are you open on weekends?
Gearhead Classics normal business hours are 9am - 6pm Monday-Friday and by appointment on Saturdays. We are closed on Sunday.

How do you take payment?
We will take a non-refundable $500 deposit via credit card and the balance is due within 7 days preferably via bank wire or cashier's check. We prefer a bank wire as it is very secure and no holds will be placed on the funds.

Are all of Gearhead Classics cars restored?
NO. We do get in many fully restored cars but Gearhead Classics specializes in affordable, popular drivers that are obtainable for everyone. We try to keep a wide variety ranging from restored to projects.

Do you take trade ins?
We do take trade ins, but we prefer other classics on trade. Please email us pictures, information and price of your trade and we will let you know if we can work a deal with you in trade for one of our vehicles.

Do you buy cars?
At Gearhead Classics, we purchase cars daily. If you are interested in selling your vehicle please email us pictures, information and asking price and we will let you know if we would like to purchase your vehicle. Keep in mind, even if we are not interested in purchasing your vehicle, we may consider consigning it! Ask us if this is an option!

Are all of your cars on the website?
NO. We try to get our vehicles listed on the website as quickly as we can but we usually have 25-40 cars that are not advertised. Please see our new arrivals tab under inventory to get a glimpse of new inventory that has not been advertised yet.

Did your company used to be named Classic Car Liquidators?
YES. We purchased the company in 2016 as Classic Car Liquidators and ran it under that name for nearly nine years. We decided that the name no longer reflected our goal of the business. We aren’t trying to sell cheap junk classic cars. We want to sell good, drivable classic cars that people can jump in and enjoy. Of course any classic car can have it’s issues at any time, but we try to put our best foot forward to catch as many issues as we can ahead of time and if we know there are operational issues, let you know before purchase. Gearhead Classics is all about selling good cars to grow the classic car hobby. We love our hot rods and classic cars and we want others to experience that joy. At the end of the day, we are FOR CAR PEOPLE, BY CAR PEOPLE.
