The 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle sits right at the crossroads of muscle car history, where clean design met serious street performance. This was the final year before the bodylines evolved, making the '67 a favorite among enthusiasts who appreciate its balanced proportions and unmistakable stance. Real SS cars are scarce and climbing, which is exactly why well-built tributes like this one have carved out their own respected place in the hobby.
Finished in a bold blue over a black bench seat interior, this coupe captures that classic street bruiser attitude. The body was taken down to bare metal during its 2012 restoration, with a smoothed firewall and painted inner fenders giving the engine bay a clean, purposeful look. It has the kind of driver quality finish that invites you to get behind the wheel and use it the way Chevrolet intended.
Under the hood is where things get serious. A 496 cubic inch big block built by MADCAP Racing Engines delivers a brutal 673 horsepower and 703 lb ft of torque, backed by Edelbrock aluminum heads, a Comp hydraulic roller cam, and a Holley 850 carb. The forged Scat crank and 10.7:1 compression round out a package that was built to perform, not just look the part. Long tube headers and a full stainless 3 inch exhaust with electronic cutouts let it breathe and roar on command.
Power is sent through a Tremec TKO 5 speed manual, giving you full control whether you are cruising or putting the hammer down. Out back, a powdercoated 12 bolt with Eaton Posi and Richmond 3.90 gears keeps everything planted, supported by Strange axles and a fully rebuilt suspension with RideTech components. Four wheel disc brakes, stainless fuel and brake lines, and an aluminum radiator ensure it runs and stops as strong as it accelerates.
This Chevelle delivers the raw feel that made muscle cars legendary, but with modern upgrades that make it far more usable today. It is the kind of car that turns heads at a show, but truly comes alive when the road opens up and that big block starts pulling hard through the gears.
